We have had our bus incidents as well. And I cried like a baby when I finally got my son back too. You are so lucky to have a wonderful neighbor though!

That is the WORST! feeling in the world–wondering where your child is. We have all been there. Glad everything turned out well. Thank goodness for good neighbors.

Good thing you had an attentive neighbour, that’s so cool how she stepped in and helped you like that but uhm wtf is up with your bus company?
I’d maybe personally introduce yourself to the bus driver and explain that while you’re aware his job doesn’t necessarily pertain to babysitting, if he’s driving a bus with a special needs child he/she/it needs to be attentive to that child(s).

It’s a big enough thing to trust our abled children to get on/off busses without any drama.. it’s completely different.. like handing someone priceless china… when it’s a child who requires extra love and attention.

My 13 year old decided in 2nd grade that she would ride home with her best friend then just have the bus driver take her to her own house when done. By the time the school called to let me know what had happened I was nearly dead! I feel your pain. Glad everything turned out okay!

Don’t you just love that photo? My daughter took that this morning and although I look quite drunk, I assure you I wasn’t. Although with the day I had, I sure wanted a drink, even though I don’t drink (but that’s another post, another day)….
